Panorama City was built as a planned community for working families, and our flight school near Panorama City is built for the same kind of drive: practical, focused and close to home. We train at Van Nuys Airport (KVNY), about 3 miles west, with lessons from 9 AM to 9 PM every day.
Panorama City has always been about building something. Developers Fritz Burns and Henry J. Kaiser laid it out in the late 1940s as one of the first master-planned suburbs in the San Fernando Valley, and generations of families have since made it one of the Valley's most diverse neighborhoods, with strong Latino and Filipino communities and busy commercial strips along Van Nuys Blvd. That spirit of hard work fits flight training perfectly. Earning a pilot certificate is a step-by-step project, and it rewards the same approach: steady lessons, real goals and a clear plan.
For plenty of people in Panorama City, flying is a career plan, not a hobby. Some want to fly for the airlines, some want a commercial certificate to work as charter or tour pilots, and some want to become instructors and teach. Others are parents giving a teenager a head start. Wherever you begin, the airport is close enough that you can fly before work, after school or on a weekend afternoon without losing half the day to the drive.

Open 9 AM to 9 PM, seven days a week, so lessons fit around shifts, school and family.
On your discovery flight you take off from KVNY and the whole east Valley opens up in front of you. Panorama City is easy to find: look for Van Nuys Blvd running north through the heart of the neighborhood, the Panorama Mall near Roscoe Blvd and the large Kaiser Permanente medical campus. Just to the south sits the site of the old General Motors assembly plant, now The Plant shopping center. Beyond that, the Hansen Dam basin, the Verdugo Mountains and the San Gabriels frame the horizon. You fly the airplane yourself, with your instructor right beside you.
Whatever your goal, there is a program for it. Each one is taught from Van Nuys Airport, and your instructor will help you choose the right starting point.
